Henley Close play area to be improved thanks to Rainham councillors
Press release posted on Tuesday, 9 February 2010
Rainham Central councillors Barry Kemp, Rehman Chishti and Mike O'Brien are pleased to announce that they have successfully obtained funding of £32,400 for the complete refurbishment of the Henley Close play area.
The money will be used to install, amongst other things, modern cradle swings, Wicksteed Quad Rider and Tom Thumb.
The play area will also benefit from new Wicksteed springy rockers for the younger children, a picnic table, seats and Streemaster bins.
Councillor Mike O'Brien said:
"We are extremely pleased that we have been able to arrange this funding, the play area is in a poor state and we intend to have it refurbished so it can once again be enjoyed by young children. The job will now go out to tender and we hope that the new Play Area will be up and running by early summer".
